About me

A FEW WORDS ABOUT ME

Hello everyone !

Who am I and what do I do every day?

My name is Paweł. I am a civil engineer by profession. I graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering on University of Technology in Kraków, Poland.

Above all, however I am very passionate about programming and digital technology. In the near future, I would like to fully commit to being a full-time programmer on interesting commercial projects.

Professional Experience

My first exposure to programming was at university, where I took a course on the basics of the C language. From the beginning I enjoyed programming so much that I decided to improve my skills and broaden my horizons.

Then, after graduating, I decided to join the Przyszły Programista course run by Senior Developer Artur Nowakowski.

Stages of the programming course

The first part of the course gave me a solid grounding in C++ programming. I got a good solid grounding in algorithms, structured programming and object-oriented programming. During this phase I created the Address Book and Personal Budget console applications.

In the second part of the course, I learnt about modern web technologies for creating websites and web applications. First, I learnt how to create the outward appearance of websites, the so-called frontend, based on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I then learned about backend technology, mainly based on the PHP language. I learnt about MySQL databases, the MVC framework and the JavaScript execution environment – Node.js. These skills allowed me to build my first web application from scratch based on the MVC framework and the XAMPP platform – the myBudgetApp. I also learnt how to build a website like the one you see now using WordPress, the most popular content management system.

In the final phase of the course, I learned about the application programming interface – the REST API. Based on this, I built the KeeperApp to dynamically manage a collection of links to websites. I also set up the website on a virtual machine on an external Ubuntu VPS server on the DigitalOcean platform.

I encourage you to view my portfolio and contact me if you have any questions or are interested in working with me.
